When testing Deals on the Bonterms Platform, it's important to simulate a real Sender and Recipient experience. Because Bonterms identifies the currently signed-in user, opening both the Sender and Recipient experience in the same browser session can cause sesssion and/or authentication conflicts. Following these best practices will help you avoid browser session conflicts and ensure you can test the full Deal workflow.
Quick tips
- Use a Recipient email address from a different email domain
- Open the Recipient experience in a different browser, browser profile, or private/incognito window
- Test with a real, working email address
- Contact Bonterms Support if you'd like assistance testing your workflow
Use a different email domain
When sending yourself a test Deal, use a Recipient email address that belongs to a different email domain than your own.
For example:
- Sender:
sally@company.com - Recipient:
sally.testing@gmail.com
Using different email domains helps prevent authentication and browser session conflicts during testing.
Note: We do not recommend sending test Deals to fake or inactive email addresses. Using a real email account allows you to experience the complete Recipient workflow, including reviewing Terms, proposing changes, and signing the Deal.
Use a different browser or private browsing
To avoid conflicts between your Sender and Recipient sessions, open the Recipient invitation using one of the following:
- A different web browser
- A private/incognito window
- A separate browser profile
If you regularly test Deals, creating separate browser profiles for your Sender and Recipient accounts can make testing much easier.
Refresh your browser
If you experience unexpected behavior while testing:
- Clear your browser cookies
- Perform a hard refresh
Mac: Press ⌘ Cmd + ⇧ Shift + R
Windows: Press Ctrl + F5
