Cover Page Templates

Cover Pages are the final document your parties review and sign to enter into a Bonterms Standard Agreement.

Each Cover Page:

  • Brings together your Key Terms, Additional Terms, Party Information and Attachments (when applicable)
  • References the underlying Standard Agreement
  • Serves as the official, signed output of the deal

The Cover Page Templates page controls the default wording and title used at the top of your Cover Pages for each Standard Agreement type.

Note: If you belong to more than one organization, you can customize Cover Page Templates for each one. Each organization maintains one Cover Page Template for each deal type.

Quick tips

  • Changes apply to new Deals only (not drafts or completed Deals)
  • This page controls introductory language and titles, not deal terms
  • Keep wording clear and consistent with your legal team’s preferences
  • You can safely customize language without affecting the underlying Standard Agreement

What you can customize

In this section, you can update:

  • Cover Page title / heading
  • Introductory language (the paragraph at the top of the Cover Page)
  • Additional Terms section header / description
  • Signatures section header / description

What you can’t do here

You won’t use this page to:

  • Edit Key Terms
  • Add or modify Additional Terms
  • Manage Attachments

To update those, go to Deal Templates. See Create a Deal Template.

Update Cover Page wording

Follow these steps to customize your Cover Page template:

  1. Go to Settings → Cover Pages
  2. Select the Standard Agreement Cover Page you want to update
  3. Click Edit (top right)
  4. Update the title, introductory text, or section headers
  5. Click Save

Notes

  • Dynamic fields:
{{Sender}} and {{Recipient}} only work in the Cover Page title (where they appear by default). These are automatically replaced with your Organization name (Sender) and the Counterparty name entered when creating the Deal.
  • Applies to new Deals only - changes will apply to all future Deals for that Standard Agreement type.
Existing (sent or completed) Deals are not affected.

For more information on any of the other settings, see the Settings Overview.
